Silverstone
Track Days
Silverstone is the home of British Motorsport and although the track itself may differ substantially since the early years, the essence of Silverstone still remains unchanged. A fast and demanding circuit, designed for racers and track day enthusiasts alike
The GP Circuit
(3.66 miles) one of the fastest Moto GP circuits on the calendar and host to the F1 British Grand Prix.
The National Circuit
(1.64 miles) the shortest of Silverstone's race circuits but with plenty of heritage, hosting the British Touring Cars and the Walter Hayes Trophy along with many other Club and National Championships.
The International Circuit
(1.851 Miles) the southern loop of the famous Grand Prix circuit which includes Hanger Straight, with some tricky bits in between, a perfect opportunity for the quicker cars to stretch their legs while also giving the technically minded plenty to think about.
Circuit Guide
Our Chief Instructors View.
"This being the home of British Motorsport it is obviously going to be a fantastic circuit, which it is. With the addition of the new loop section to the track, it is now an extremely high speed lap, with some seriously fast and challenging corners plus some very technical hairpins which can make or break the lap. Silverstone entices drivers to push a little harder than normal due to the vast expanse of runoff it offers, but just remember that grass really doesn’t slow you down that much before you hit the wall! Take special care on the exit of Club Corner and Woodcote especially in the wet. The tendency for most drivers who make the same mistake at both of these tricky corners, is to turn in too early, and when they reach the mid part of the corner they realise that the track is narrowing, so they lift off which switches the weight transfer to the rear and then you have a big slide on your hands and unfortunately it usually ends in tears.".
